Tough choice!What's more, my local club 'Reflex' were having a visit from star performer 'Deeyah' who, according to their web-site… "She's the latest hot talent to emerge from the management stable that produced Prince and Sinead O'Connor and gorgeous singer Deeyah, 26, is set to be huge this year, vying to be the first Asian J-Lo. "Singing 'I saw you' (released June 2004) she's set to go down a storm this summer after having great success with two albums in her native Norway." … so I invited a few friends along to see the show. |
  First a brief introduction to a new friend of mine, Sasha. Sasha is my flat-mate for a while and is a newcomer to these pages. As you can see for yourself she's one of those annoying trannies who's annoyingly thin but hey, if it's a balance between the occasional bottle of wine (or two) or looking fabulously svelte, I'll take both thanks.And anyway, I'd been out the night before in Cambridge to see Bill Bailey (comedian in case you didn't know) so I can't be expected to compete all the time…! So onwards and forwards and next to arrive Chez Valentine was my good friend Anastasia Piachuska who immediately suggested a 'who could pull the silliest pose' competition which began at my place and continued when we got to Reflex. Results below. |

 And what about Deeyah (pictured left)? Well the Asian J-Lo she might be, but I'm not a big fan of J-Lo myself and I would have to say that I don't think that I'm going to be a big fan of Deeyah either. Not that there's anything wrong with her songs, performance, or Pringle boob tube but it's just not my cup of tea. |
