La, la, la, la… Reflex (13 September 2002)

There is a gay club called Reflex which is not far up the road from me in Kingston-on-Thames that some of the girls had been to on a previous occasion and given the thumbs-up. I had been wanting an excuse to go for ages and as Sharon, party girl extreme, was coming over for the weekend it seemed a fitting place to begin. Well it wouldn't be right without the obligatory picture of me before I hit the town would it?!

Well, after the journey from hell the very short distance from my flat to the club (thanks Jas!) through the Kingston one-way system which had been closed making every car and bus go up one small side-street - ouch! - we finally made it there. We arrived around 10.30pm and the place was pretty quiet. But we were pleased to discover that we weren't the only trannies there. On the right here with me and Sharon is Angie Flange from Basildon in Essex (you can't see it here, but yes, she was wearing white stilettos and we did dance around her handbag at one point in the evening). Later in the night those stalwarts of late night drinking sessions, Alison and Sandra also appeared. As with all gay clubs (outside of those in central London) the atmosphere was very relaxed and other than for one guy who insisted on trying it on with Sharon (not a good idea!) we had a great time and received loads of lovely comments from guys and girls alike. One last shot - this time in a sacred area. Fellas avert your eyes as this one was taken in the ladies room (which were nice and clean with plenty of mirrors by the way), or should that be the 'trannies room'?
